Coming Up Next...Stacy and I will be traveling back to ABQ New Mexico for the annual statewide, harvest wine festival! From May 23-26 we will be road tripping it for another year of amazing wine tastings and ABQ area fun to include a speed train ride to Santa Fe, an ariel tramway ride to the 10,400' Sandi Peak summit where the famous Ten3 Restaurant will land on our dinner plans. Standby for more of those details in the next edition! Chit Chat SegmentListen to my interview with Carter Rowe, GM of the newly opened Angoria Hotel in downtown San Angelo. Menu Peak: Baklava - 1 each Chicken Souvlaki - 1 skewer each Dolmas - 2 per plate Keftedes - 3 per plate Spanakopeta 1 per plate Tzatziki Sauce – 1 Cup each Agiorgitiko Greek red wine, 2x glasses each Local Food FindsOne new major food find we came across recently was a 45-minute drive south to Eldorado Texas where we visited at last, you guessed it... The Wagon Wheel Cafe! Finally, we made it in to check things out! I went with my wife and son and my in-laws who are residents of Eldorado themselves. None of us have been here so this was a new experience for all of us. Stephanie and Doug, co-owners and full-time crew run the joint and the do it well. Open since mid-November 2023, this ship has no sings of slowing down soon. While various burgers lead the menu as customer favorites, other options will please as well. My triple-decker Texas toast club sandwich with turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and mustard was massive and delicious. My chef's salad was fresh and crisp, piled high with cucumber, tomatoes, greens, peppers, ham, and turkey, and sliced boiled egg. It also comes with cheese also but knowing my lactose affair, I withheld it. Every plate we got at the table looked amazing. My son gave his grilled chicken sandwich on a croissant a 9/10 so consider that! You can pick from tater-tots, French fries, waffle fries, onion rings, or chips as a side item to any burger or sandwich. Every plate on the menu is very affordable at just $10-12 each. It was noted as we left that we should come back for breakfast sometime, when I heard they make plate-sized pancakes in a cornmeal version, I instantly set plans to return just for that! It's my favorite pancake style ever but so hard to find! The other food find (not a new find) was a return visit to one of our top 3 favorite places in the country, Peasant Village Restaurant headed by Chef Jason Helfer. His new menu is out and we had to go try it. His most approachable menu to date with a new angle on casual, informal, non-intimidating menu items, and prices. Two daily specials remain for those seeking a more high-end, special occasion-type dish/experience so dont think all tradition has been abandoned. A central theme that remains with the new menu is the focus on quality. Jason retains every speck of ingredient sourcing to ensure only the best quality items make it to the plate, to begin with. 2025 Kickoff Email Newsletter I am taking a new approach this year to the newsletter email that you all subscribe to (thank you for that!) with a more shorthand form of what is going on in the CV food and drink scene. I will do my best to put out a short and brief weekly update of the new places I have been and am going in the coming week. I will even include places I have been to before but try new dishes or items at since its still new in a sense. I have gotten busy and remain quite busy...

Introduction It has been 2 weeks now since our return from our 10 day vacation of which 7 was spent onboard the Carnival Luminosa cruise ship. We spent time in Alaska primarily with a couple stops in Canada as well. Additionally, we spent 3 days total in Seattle prior to and after our cruise to savor a bit of the Emerald City while in the area. I wont go too much into that here as this newsletter is of course, all about the CV area and all that goodness. Check out my personal Facebook page to...
