Coming Up Next...Stacy, my son, and I will be traveling to Grapetown (near Fredericksburg) from July 5-7, for the annual Peach Festival put on by The Best of Texas. We are staying at the Walnut Canyon Cabins in Comfort TX for 2 nights during our stay and I cannot wait to see these cabins as they look stunning in the photos and the reviews are overwhelmingly positive as well. Stay tuned for follow up content about that entire trip to include our lodging, wine and food of course! Local Food FindsOne new major food find we came across recently was while attending Cultura Fest III at Kirby Park. The Del Rio based food truck called Tacos El Primo. Event host Chic La Flair got me the hook-up to go and try their top two best selling menu items first hand. The cempachana taco and the steak street tacos (5) were bomb-diggity! You cannot go wrong with either option. I did the 5 street tacos and my wife got the cempachana, nothing remained in the end. The cempachana is simple but effective, a mix of pork al pastor with seasoned diced flank steak, spread over asadero cheese, inside a flour tortilla. Street tacos follow suite with corn tortillas and generous helpings of diced, seasoned flank steak. I added green salsa and pickled onion to mine and it worked! I coulda done another 5 tacos easy! If I ever get down to Del Rio (hello Laughlin AFB!) I will be seeking these guys out! In business since 2012, they are obviously doing something right inside that truck of theirs! Say hello to the owner as well! He is awesome! If you recall just after Fathers Day, I posted in the Facebook Group, a few teaser shots as to where the family and I went for dinner. I promised to let people know where those good looking dishes came from so here it is if you didn't figure it out already. Our 4th visit to the one and only Luigi's, we came ready for greatness, and greatness we got. Check out these shots of our amazing dishes. The dishes include the Shrimp Primavera, Chicken Cacciatore, Buffalo Wings, Margarita Pizza (large), the house Cannoli and the complementary garlic bread and marinara sauce. I highly suggest any of these items to those who have not yet been here. Wine FindsThis red blend has been a top 5 all-time bargain buy wine for me. It is also a top 10 favorite red wine for me as well. I first tried this at The Cigar Bar and Wine Lounge in Fredericksburg back in fall 2020 and have been in love with it since. I just found it (the 2021 vintage) at Market Street Grocery Store for $11! Its normally $12-13 so even at normal price, its a deal, but right now its a genuine steal! A great sipping wine by itself to be very honest, it needs to support from food to stand on its own. However, if I had to pair it with anything at all, it would be beef roast or various hard cheeses, but again, try it solo and thank me later! Want to be listed here? 2025 Kickoff Email Newsletter I am taking a new approach this year to the newsletter email that you all subscribe to (thank you for that!) with a more shorthand form of what is going on in the CV food and drink scene. I will do my best to put out a short and brief weekly update of the new places I have been and am going in the coming week. I will even include places I have been to before but try new dishes or items at since its still new in a sense. I have gotten busy and remain quite busy...

Introduction It has been 2 weeks now since our return from our 10 day vacation of which 7 was spent onboard the Carnival Luminosa cruise ship. We spent time in Alaska primarily with a couple stops in Canada as well. Additionally, we spent 3 days total in Seattle prior to and after our cruise to savor a bit of the Emerald City while in the area. I wont go too much into that here as this newsletter is of course, all about the CV area and all that goodness. Check out my personal Facebook page to...
