Tall Guys Burgers & Fries MASA Sushi PV Deli Wandering Mind Brewery Biga STX On August 7th the family and I depart town for Seattle where we board the next day on Carnival Luminosa for our 3rd cruise on the cruise line. This time it's off to Alaska! 7 days and 4 stops. A great way to end the summer and escape the heat! Stay tuned for a full summary feature on that adventure! Grapetown Cabin Stay + FBG Annual Peach FestivalAn annual event put on by The Bankersmith Saloon, Grapetown Vineyards and The Best of Texas Org, this venue and organization always does it big and bold. The second event form these hosts, at this site, for my wife and I, this was once again, a great experience we likely will return to again. Look for other big annual events they do year-round as well. Local Food FindsThe latest major food finds I came across in town recently were, a solo first time stop at Cowboy Up Chocolates, second was Blue Agave Bar and Mexican Kitchen for a family dinner, as well as a chance find of Cassie's Bake House while perusing the vendors at The Night Market. I have made separate posts about these visits already. Two of the three have YouTube videos so I will defer to those links below so you can get the inside details on all of those great local places. Introduction It has been 2 weeks now since our return from our 10 day vacation of which 7 was spent onboard the Carnival Luminosa cruise ship. We spent time in Alaska primarily with a couple stops in Canada as well. Additionally, we spent 3 days total in Seattle prior to and after our cruise to savor a bit of the Emerald City while in the area.
